ABC Notation Dataset (10k samples)

This dataset contains 10000 ABC notation code-to-sheet-music-image pairs.

ABC notation is a text-based music notation system that is widely used for folk and traditional music.

Each sample includes:

An ABC notation file (.abc) containing the music code

A rendered PNG image of the sheet music

Metadata about the tune (title, composer, key, etc.)

File Structure:

dataset_10k.json: Metadata for all 10000 samples (IDs, metadata, ABC notation content)

abc_notation_batch_XXX.zip: Batches of ABC-image pairs (each contains ~1000 samples)

abc_files/{tune_id}.abc: ABC notation files

images/{tune_id}.png: Rendered sheet music images

metadata/{tune_id}.json: Individual tune metadata

Usage:

Download dataset_10k.json for metadata

Download the batch zip files you need

Extract zip files to get abc_files/, images/, and metadata/ folders

Files with the same ID correspond to each other (e.g., abc_files/tune_000001.abc ↔ images/tune_000001.png)
