JALOLIDDIN MANGUBERDI AND THE MONGOLS' "TRAP STRATEGIES"

The main objective of this study is to analyze the “trap strategies”used in the military conflicts of Jaloliddin Manguberdi and the Mongols. The study focused on identifying the military tricks used by the Mongols and the tactical maneuvers Jalaliddin used in response to them. It is also one of the goals to explore the impact of these strategies on the outcome of the battle and their relevance to modern military planning. The study was based on a historical-analytical method and studied primary and secondary sources, including historical manuscripts, books and scientific articles. The Mongol trap strategies such as false retreat, encirclement, and psychological pressure, and Jaloliddin's approaches to remedy these, were compared among others. The results show that the Mongols used complex strategies to gain an advantage in battle, while Jalaliddin found their weaknesses and demonstrated tactical flexibility. Nevertheless, the lack of resources and the numerical superiority of the enemy limited his long-term victory. The study introduces new theoretical concepts into the field of military history and strategy. In particular, it reveals the importance of a flexible approach and combat planning in war. In practical terms, this study can be useful for military strategists, historians and politicians. A deeper study of the combat strategies of the Mongols and Jalaliddin can also be relevant for military planning and modern strategic operations.
