Datasets for Organic Agriculture Specialisation in the European Union Member States: Structural Patterns and Dynamics

This dataset contains calculated Location Quotient (LQ) values that measure the degree of specialisation of European Union Member States across eleven organic farming categories. In this context, a “category” denotes a specific type of organic agricultural land use or a group of organically cultivated crops. The LQ values compare national specialisation levels with the EU average based on official statistics. Data are used in their original form, with no additional transformation applied. The dataset includes the following organic farming categories: (1) Organic utilised agricultural area, (2) Arable land, (3) Cereals for the production of grain, (4) Dry pulses and protein crops for the production of grain, (5) Root crops, (6) Industrial crops, (7) Plants harvested green from arable land, (8) Fresh vegetables (including melons) and strawberries, (9) Fallow land, (10) Permanent grassland, (11) Permanent crops.
