资源简介:
Draft genome sequence of Penicillium sp. CF05 (Penicillium section Chrysogena): insights for safety assessment and biotechnological application. The species belonging to the genus Penicillium (Ascomycota) produce a wide range of enzymes and metabolites of great biotechnological interest. Penicillium sp. CF05 was isolated from a plastic waste recycling plant (Latium region, central Italy). Our phylogenetic analysis based on DNA sequences of the ribosomal DNA regions and protein coding genes (including the beta-tubulin and calmodulin genes) revealed that Penicillium sp. CF05 is a taxon of section Chrysogena and is related to Penicillium chrysogenum sensu lato, which are biotechnologically important taxa in the production of the antibiotic penicillin. In this study, the genome of Penicillium sp. CF05 (Penicillium section Chrysogena) was sequenced using an Illumina MiSeq (2x300 bp paired-end reads strategy). Reads were assembled in scaffolds, which represent the draft genome of Penicillium sp. CF05. A comparative genomic analysis of Penicillium sp. CF05 and other Penicillium species (including the penicillin-producing Penicillium species of section Chrysogena) allows us to identify important genes for safety assessment and biotechnological application. The study was funded with the Research Project: âMicrobial genomes: biotechnology and safety; INAIL-PAR 2016-2018â.
