This is the project to determine the genome sequence of Bacteroides sedimenti strain YN3PY1 that isolated from a chloroethene-dechlorinating consortium originally enriched from river sediment. The strain is important as the strain enhanced the dechlorination of cis-dichloroethene to ethene by Dehalococcoides, and as the first isolate of the genus Bacteroides, obtained from animal-independent environments.
