This dataset contains 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequences derived from granular sludge collected from a pilot-scale granular sludge reactor (GSR) treating mature landfill leachate. The reactor was operated over 600 days with multiple phases to evaluate process stability and microbial succession during long-term biological nitrogen and organic matter removal. Sludge samples were taken from different reactor phases to capture temporal variations in community composition. DNA was extracted from biomass and the V-region–unspecified portion of the 16S rRNA gene was amplified and sequenced on an Illumina MiSeq platform. The dataset supports analyses of microbial adaptation, resilience, and dominant functional groups within granular sludge under high-strength wastewater conditions. These data contribute to understanding the microbial ecology of full-scale granular sludge technologies for advanced leachate treatment.
