Protecting Zieria of the South Coast - Zieria granulata (Illawarra Zieria)

The objective of this project is to support Shellharbour Council in its efforts to manage Zieria granulata, Pimelia spicata and Cynanchum elegans across the Local Government Areas. These species are very significant in the region and, being a highly modified environment, it is very important to maintain these efforts throughout the community. The major focus species will be Zieria granulata that exists in Bass Point Reserve and in Shell Cove, a species that only exists in the Illawarra. The survival of this species largely relies upon the work of council and community groups, which will directly benefit from the support of this project through on-ground activities including weeding, planting and ongoing monitoring support.
