Shape conformity of coffee capsule packages

Dataset of images in jpg format of the top view of a cube-shaped aluminium package containing Espresso coffee capsules of Illycaffè, acquired in-line to monitor shape conformity after the final sealing stage in a plant production line that assembles packages for delivery to the market. The images are separated into two folders according to their conformity, one of good quality (up_ok) and one of “bad” quality (up_defect), where the shape does not conform to the aesthetic requirements to be sold, and can also be a symptom of incorrect filling of capsules or inert atmosphere, or of inefficient sealing. Vision inspection system provided by Video Systems Srl allows the assessment of shape conformity of cube-shaped packages by means of AI-based classification.
