The Microbial Sensor Package was deployed on 2009-09-11 at Barkley Canyon Mid-East. Barkley Canyon Mid-East is a location in Barkley Canyon near a canyon wall. At this location, benthic processes, biodiversity, and sediment dynamics are observed. This device is a Microbial Sensor. Microbial sensors detect microbial activity in the seafloor sediment indirectly by measuring reduction-oxidation reactions. It was deployed on a fixed platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 3.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.
