Genome sequencing and assembly of Verticillium dahliae race 2 and race 3 strains

Verticillium dahliae infecting can be differentiated into race 1 and race 2 based on differential pathogenicity on tomato cultivars carrying resistance gene Ve1; and the race 2 can further be split into two races by the pathogenicity divergence on resistant rootstocks. In this project, the whole genomes of four race 3 strains and two race 2 strains were sequenced and assemble, accompany with the reference genomes of race 1, the project will develop the genetic basis of races divergence in Verticillium dahliae.
