According to the minutes of its first meeting, the Building Planning Committee, whose function was "to plan future building projects and examine proposals concerning buildings," was formed in 1977 to meet "as and when required." It seems to have met only four times. This book contains the original typescript copies of the minutes of these meetings, from which it appears that the chief planning concern during this period was the relocation of operating theatres.
