The goal of the study was to sequence the genome of Rhodococcus opacus KT112-7, isolated from a technogenic mineral waste in the area of development of the Verkhnekamsk salt deposit, Russia. The strain is capable of degrading polychlorinated biphenyls and a broad range of aromatic compounds. The genome sequence of the strain KT112-7 will be helpful for exploring the molecular pathways involved in the degradation of polychlorinated biphenyls.
