Tree Preservation Orders

A Tree Preservation Order is an order made by a local planning authority in England to protect specific trees, groups of trees or woodlands in the interests of amenity. An Order prohibits the cutting down, topping, lopping, uprooting, wilful damage and wilful destruction of trees without the local planning authority's written consent. If consent is given, it can be subject to conditions which have to be followed. In the Secretary of State's view, cutting roots is also a prohibited activity and requires the authority's consent.This dataset comprises both point and polygon data detailing the position and extent of all trees currently subject to a preservation order either pending confirmation or confirmed within the Bristol area.树木保护令（Tree Preservation Order）是英格兰地方规划主管部门为保障环境宜居性而制定的命令，用于保护特定树木、树木群或林地。该命令严禁未经地方规划主管部门书面同意，实施砍伐、截顶、修枝、连根拔除、故意损坏及故意毁坏树木的行为。若获得书面同意，该同意可附带必须严格遵守的约束条件。英国国务大臣认为，砍伐树根同样属于被禁止的行为，且需获得主管部门的同意。本数据集涵盖点数据与面数据两类，详细记录了当前布里斯托尔地区所有受树木保护令约束的树木的位置与分布范围，相关保护令要么处于待确认状态，要么已正式生效。
