资源简介:

Overview over the materials Medium entropy alloys are characterized by containing 2-4 main elements and having a configurational entropy ΔSconf between 1.0*R ≤ ΔSconf ≤ 1.5*R [1] With ΔSconf = ∑ni=1(ci ln(ci)) where ci is the mole fraction (or the at.%) of the ith component and R is the gas constant. Four alloys from the Co-Cr-Fe-Ni medium entropy family (with additional elements in smaller amounts) are being compared by several chemical analysis methods. Materials and Methods Alloys were cast from 99,99% pure elements in a vacuum induction furnace operated under vacuum. The ingots were remelted three times to ensure homogeneity. Samples for EDS analysis were ground and polished down to a final suspension of 50 nm sized silica suspension. The SEM used for the EDS analysis is a Zeiss Leo Gemini 1530VP, equipped with a Bruker x-Flash EDS detector. Analysis was performed at 15 keV. The spectra were collected in the as-cast samples in three different areas of the cross section over large areas of several hundred µm2. Chemical analysis was separated into inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) for the determination of Al, Si, and B, combustion analysis for C and X-ray fluorescence analysis (XRF) for elements Co, Cr, Fe, Mn, Mo, Ni, and Ti. Measurements were taken in three points in all three methods. Besides the typical difference in C content (EDS always detects too much carbon [2]) the two methods are well aligned in the case of these alloy.
