Vegetation Inventory - 40k

Vegetation inventory polygons contain a variety of detailed information on vegetation growing within the polygons. For example, the age and type of trees growing on the land base in Yukon and shrubs growing in the alpine. The data set is most often used in forest management planning and analysis, habitat planning and analysis, land use planning, wildlife planning and analysis and other natural resource management. It is a 'management level' inventory - meaning it is intended for use at smaller scales (i.e. 1:40,000) rather than at an 'operational level'. This inventory was completed over multiple years. Earlier inventory was completed using the 1995 Forest Inventory manual. Additional inventory was since completed after 2000 utilizing the 2006 Vegetation inventory manual v2.1.
