The GGSS/ALLBUS 2023 – DBD Add-On is a dataset based on digital behavioral data of a subsample of the GGSS/ALLBUS 2023 survey respondents. It offers data on browsing behavior based on collected web tracking data for 104 respondents of the survey. The GGSS/ALLBUS 2023 – DBD Add-On data can be linked with the GGSS/ALLBUS 2023 survey data.
The data were collected by the services GESIS Web Tracking and GESIS Panel Digital Behavioral Data Sample (GESIS Panel.dbd) from October 2023 to January 2024. In 2023, participants from the ALLBUS (self-administered modes) were invited to join the GESIS Pan-el.dbd. Fully registered GP.dbd panelists recruited from the ALLBUS study were subsequently invited to participate in the web tracking study.
Data was collected on participants’ browsing behavior (timestamps, duration) and content (domains, URLs, snapshots of HTMLs). The websites visited were classified by content using classification services based on their domains, and only the categories of the classifications are included in the dataset.
