资源简介:
One of the main problems of ceramic hydroxyapatite (HA) scaffolds when used in the bone regeneration field, is the inherent brittleness associated to the ceramic material. One revolutionary solution that overcomes this limitation is to synthesize HA in the form of nanofibers (NF). The further assembly of the NF into ultralong NF (ULNF) and, subsequently, into 3d scaffolds (via ice-templating), results in a structure that is capable of bending and deforming without breaking. Although the material seems really promising its application in the biomedical field is very limited and still, several studies are needed to understand the mechanisms underlying the formation of the NF and the self-assembly process that involves the creation of ULNF. We believe that analysis by SAXS-WAXS of NF and ULNF under different conditions would be fundamental to unveil the formation of these fibres (dimension, shape and orientation) and help us advance in the preparation of scaffolds with superior and controlled properties.
