Expression of DNA damage repair genes

Bdelloid rotifers possess an extensive repertoire of genes to repair DNA damage, including genes from non-metazoan sources and genes generally considered "vertebrate specific." In addition, bdelloids possess multiple copies of many of these genes, which appear to have diverged in function based on primary sequence of coding and protein sequence, presence/absence of motifs and domains, predicted biochemical properties, predicted tertiary structure, and expression.
