This is a book of order forms relating to the supply of various goods and services to Rothbury Colliery during its operation by the state.The orders are for a large range of supplies, equipment and services ranging from repairs and small items of hardware, through to clothing, beds and bedding, furniture, building materials and the hire of motor vehicles. Included are orders raised for services provided by doctors in attending to police and mine workers and supplying medicines.The orders are on government agencies, including Government Stores and Public Works as well as private companies. Many of the orders are annotated with a reference to the departmental voucher, or LOV, many of which may be found with associated paperwork in the series “Pay vouchers, abstracts of expenditure and dockets for camp expenses” (NRS 10223).Some orders are out of chronological order as they may have been formally raised at a later date.
