资源简介:
This project aims to characterize the taxonomic composition and functional potential of the skin microbiome in patients with Seborrheic Dermatitis (SD) compared to healthy controls. While previous studies have largely relied on amplicon sequencing, this study utilizes whole-genome shotgun metagenomic sequencing to provide high-resolution insights into the skin microbial community.Skin swab samples were collected from sebaceous-rich sites, specifically the T-zone, retroauricular area, nasolabial folds, and nasal alae, of 38 patients with SD and 40 healthy controls in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The goals of this study are to:Identify specific bacterial and fungal species associated with SD dysbiosis.Reconstruct functional pathways to understand the metabolic alterations in the skin microbiome.Assess the correlation between microbial signatures and clinical severity.Raw sequencing data were generated using the PacBio Onso system (150 bp paired-end). This dataset supports the understanding of the pathogenesis of Seborrheic Dermatitis and aids in the identification of potential biomarkers for diagnosis and treatment.
