Size-related decline in dryland shrub data

The dataset is about size-related decline in dryland shrubs. We investigated crown dieback, growth, hydraulics, carbon assimilation and non-structural carbohydrate storage in relation to increasing basal diameter of two dominant shrub species (Caragana korshinskii and Artemisia ordosica) at the southeastern edge of the Tengger Desert, China. The aim was to identify mechanisms of decreased performance with plant size in dryland shrubs.本数据集聚焦于旱地灌木随体型增大的性能衰退问题。我们在中国腾格里沙漠东南缘，针对两个优势灌木物种——柠条锦鸡儿（Caragana korshinskii）与油蒿（Artemisia ordosica）——的基径（basal diameter）递增情况，调查了其冠层枯梢、生长状况、水力性状、碳同化能力以及非结构性碳水化合物储存水平。本研究旨在揭示旱地灌木随植株体型增大而性能下降的内在机制。
