<p>This dataset contains the World War II liberation dates of all municipalities in the Netherlands in the period September 1944 to June 1945. The data are based on the so-called mayor declarations (burgemeestersverklaringen), requested in March 1947 by the Ministry of War, and received in the years 1947 and 1948. The dataset contains the actual liberation dates, the official liberation dates, and, if applicable, different liberation dates of parts of the municipalities that were liberated earlier or later than the stated actual liberation dates.</p>
