Recently, E. casseliflavus has been increasingly implicated in infections and hospital outbreaks. E. casseliflavus is associated with a wide variety of invasive infections in humans, such as endocarditis, bacteriemia, endophthalmitis, and spontaneous bacterial peritonitis.
