Geobotanical Regionalisation of Ukraine: Vector Data Set Based on Didukh & Shelyag-Sosonko (2003)

This data set represents the geobotanical regionalisation of Ukraine as defined by Didukh & Shelyag-Sosonko (2003). The data set delineates hierarchical geobotanical units (regions, provinces, subprovinces, and districts) based on ecological conditions and vegetation composition. Boundaries are digitised from the geobotanical map accompanying Didukh et al. (2016) and adapted for GIS-applications. (2016). Due to poor map quality in Didukh & Shelyag-Sosonko (2003), a map from Didukh et al. (2016) was georeferenced in QGIS, and polygons were traced manually. Attribute information was populated from Didukh & Shelyag-Sosonko (2003). Limitations Boundary precision is limited by the scale of the original published map.
