资源简介:

This study evaluates the clinical course, patterns of spread, and preventive aspects of odontogenic infections in dental practice. The analysis focuses on the main causes of infection, clinical manifestations, localization of inflammatory processes, methods of diagnosis, treatment approaches, and factors contributing to disease progression. The findings demonstrate that untreated dental caries and its complications represent important sources of odontogenic infection, while dental pain, facial or gingival swelling, and chewing discomfort are among the most common clinical manifestations. In some patients, the inflammatory process may spread to adjacent soft tissues and lead to abscess formation, cellulitis, or other complications. Early identification of the infectious source, appropriate diagnostic assessment, timely elimination of the focus of infection, and rational use of antimicrobial therapy are important for achieving favorable outcomes. Preventive measures, including regular dental examinations, adequate oral hygiene, early treatment of dental diseases, and patient education, play an important role in reducing the incidence and progression of odontogenic infections.
