The dataset includes drought impact data collection used and published with the article Global drought impacts in near-real-time: a media-based database for drought impact reporting to support included case study and present global drought impact database structure. The dataset includes a sample of the global drought impact database, used for the case study for 2022 drought event in European countries. The database includes structured data from online articles text mining, including information about impacts of drought events. The data sample includes following attributes: Title (title of the original published online article), Impact category (Assigned impact category, from the impact categories list), Impact subcategory (Assigned impact subcategory, from the impact categories list), Date of publish (date of publication of the original online article), Month of impact (Assigned month of impact occurrence), Continent (Assigned continent from continent list), Country (Assigned country) from country list, LGU1 (Assigned lower geographical unit from LGU list, if available), LGU1_CODE (Assigned code of LGU), Specific geography (Text description of geographical specifics of the drought impact occurrence), River (River of the impact, if available), Water body (Water body of the impact if available), IPCC Region (Assigned IPCC region of the impact occurrence) and Report URL (Original resource locator of the online report).
