Dataset for: Intercity Transmission Networks of Construction Cost Index Fluctuations: Structural Characteristics, Dynamic Evolution, and Forecasting Utility

This dataset supports the research manuscript submitted to the journal Construction Management and Economics. Note: The manuscript was originally titled “Structural Transmission and Dynamic Evolution of Construction Cost Index Fluctuations from an Intercity Linkage Perspective” at the initial submission stage. The manuscript title has been revised to “Intercity Transmission Networks of Construction Cost Index Fluctuations: Structural Characteristics, Dynamic Evolution, and Forecasting Utility” in this resubmission. This dataset contains quarterly panel data of construction cost indexes (CCI) for 34 major cities in China, covering the period from Q1 2015 to Q3 2024. All data have been standardized and cleaned, and serve as the core empirical basis for analyzing the structural transmission mechanism and dynamic evolution of intercity construction cost index fluctuations. The raw data are compiled from official industry statistical releases and authoritative public publications. This dataset is the final processed version used exclusively for the empirical analysis of the corresponding manuscript. File Description CCI_City_Quarterly_Panel.xlsx: Final cleaned panel dataset in Excel format. Rows correspond to sample cities, columns correspond to year-quarter dimensions, and values are standardized construction cost index series.
