Evaluation form of the Higher Education Institutes (HEI) status quo in Dual Career

This dataset contains the questionnaire used to investigate the provision, implementation, and policy framework of Dual Career (DC) support programmes in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The 31-item questionnaire was developed and administered online to HEI experts responsible for DC programmes (Izzicupo et al., 2025b). The instrument was adapted from the ERASMUS+ Sport project “More than Gold” and was designed to assess both institutional characteristics and the five thematic areas of dual career support, provision, and policy. The questionnaire consists of two sections. The first section collects background information on the participating HEI and respondents, including country, academic departments, degree levels offered, and the respondent’s role in DC coordination. The second section evaluates the availability, quality, and implementation stage of DC-related services across six thematic areas: (1) logistic support, including access to academic and sports facilities and housing options; (2) assistance and tutorship, including academic guidance, tutoring, and psychological support; (3) curriculum requirements, including flexible learning pathways, personalised study plans, and examination adaptations; (4) social support, including awareness activities, recognition initiatives, and community engagement; (5) financial support, including scholarships and financial aid schemes; and (6) other forms of support and policies, including institutional strategies, DC observatories, legislation, and athlete-specific enrolment policies. Responses were collected using 5-point Likert scales assessing the availability/quality of services (1 = non-existent to 5 = excellent) and their implementation stage (1 = not planned to 5 = already ongoing). The dataset provides the original questionnaire instrument used for data collection and supports research on the development and evaluation of Dual Career policies and practices in higher education.
