Phytophthora caput-medusae_mitochondrial and nuclear loci alignments

This dataset includes two multiple sequence alignments (in FASTA format) used to generate phylogenetic trees in support of the description of Phytophthora caput-medusae, a new species within the genus Phytophthora, clade 6a.The first alignment includes mitochondrial loci (cox1 and cox2) across representative taxa, while the second alignment includes nuclear loci: LSU, ITS, Btub, L10, and hsp90.Alignments were performed using MEGA11 under default parameters. These alignments were used to construct phylogenetic trees presented in the manuscript to support species delimitation and phylogenetic placement within the genus.Associated publication (in submission): “New and interesting fungi”, to appear in Fungal Systematics and Evolution (FUSE).Please cite this dataset using the DOI provided.
