Combination of clean mutations in the Primpol gene and catalytic Primpol mutants with clean deletions of the addAB operon

In previous work, we have observed that mutants lacking the Primpol DNA polymerase gene have slow growth and heterogeneity of colonies in plates. It was possible to isolate compensation mutants that grow well. In the sequenced genomes, the compensatory mutations were out of frame mutations on the addA or addB genes encoding a helicase-nuclease complex very active in DNA repair and the defense against foreign DNA. In this project we have combined clean mutations in the Primpol gene and catalytic Primpol mutants with clean deletions of the addAB operon. The sequences of the resultant genomes are presented here.
