新疆天山地区的上三叠统和下侏罗统发育有丰富的动植物化石,是我国西北中生代陆地生物群的代表性化石产地,记录了中国西北中生代早期的陆地生态系统信息。其中,八道湾组还涉及中国陆相三叠系-侏罗系的界线,对其中昆虫化石的多样性、系统分类和生物地层的研究还很缺乏。对它们的发掘和研究,不仅将进一步丰富这些生物群的物种分异度,还将为探索中国中生代陆地生态系统分异和陆生生物演化提供重要依据。本数据集收集了中国科学院南京地质古生物研究所地层古生物科考队在第二次青藏科考期间对区内上三叠统-下侏罗统黄山街组和八道湾组开展考察、采集到的化石,包括托克逊艾维尔沟下侏罗统八道湾组(昆虫)、托克逊克尔碱上三叠统黄山街组(昆虫)两条剖面。黄山街组昆虫化石材料拓展了Mesopsyche 属的时空分布记录,揭示了黄山街组和铜川延长组7段的联系,反映了该属昆虫的扩散和演化规律。八道湾组昆虫化石材料是首次从该层位发现昆虫化石,丰富了该岩组的化石分布范围。清单按照时代顺序排列。

The Upper Triassic and Lower Jurassic strata in the Tianshan region of Xinjiang are abundant in plant and animal fossils, serving as a representative fossil locality for Mesozoic terrestrial biotas in northwest China, and they record information on the early Mesozoic terrestrial ecosystems of northwest China. Among them, the Badaowan Formation also corresponds to the continental Triassic-Jurassic boundary in China, yet studies on the diversity, systematic taxonomy, and biostratigraphy of the insect fossils within it are still scarce. The excavation and study of these fossils will not only further enrich the species diversity of these biotas, but also provide important evidence for exploring the differentiation of Mesozoic terrestrial ecosystems and the evolution of terrestrial organisms in China. This dataset collects fossils collected during the field investigation of the Upper Triassic-Lower Jurassic Huangshanjie Formation and Badaowan Formation in the region by the Stratigraphic Palaeontological Expedition Team of the Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology, Chinese Academy of Sciences during the Second Qinghai-Tibet Scientific Expedition, including two sections: the Lower Jurassic Badaowan Formation (insects) at Aweigou, Tuokexun, and the Upper Triassic Huangshanjie Formation (insects) at Keerjian, Tuokexun. The insect fossil materials from the Huangshanjie Formation expand the spatio-temporal distribution records of the genus *Mesopsyche*, reveal the correlation between the Huangshanjie Formation and Member 7 of the Yanchang Formation in Tongchuan, and reflect the dispersal and evolutionary patterns of insects of this genus. The insect fossil materials from the Badaowan Formation represent the first discovery of insect fossils from this horizon, expanding the fossil distribution range of this lithostratigraphic unit. The inventory is arranged in chronological order.
