The Biosphere Reserve “Lower Saxony Elbtalaue” is part of the UNESCO 1997 recognised, cross-border biosphere reserve river landscape Elbe. It was established by the Law on the Biosphere Reserve of Lower Saxony Elbtalaue on 23 November 2002 with a total area of 56.760 ha. The biosphere reserve “Lower Saxony Elbtalaue” extends 100 kilometres southeast of Hamburg on a length of about 80 km on the northeastern edge of the state of Lower Saxony (see Figure 4-1) along the Elbe between Schnackenburg in the east and Hohnstorf (Elbe) in the west (electricity km 472.5 at Schnackenburg to 569 near Lauenburg). The Biosphere Reserve includes parts of the Lüchow-Dannenberg districts and Lüneburg.
生物圈保护区“下萨克森易北河谷(Lower Saxony Elbtalaue)”是联合国教科文组织1997年认定的跨境易北河河谷生物圈保护区的组成部分。该保护区于2002年11月23日依据《下萨克森易北河谷生物圈保护区法》正式设立,总面积达56.760公顷。 该生物圈保护区“下萨克森易北河谷”位于汉堡东南方向100公里处,地处下萨克森州东北部边缘,沿易北河绵延约80公里(见图4-1),东起东部的施纳肯堡,西至西部的霍恩施托夫(易北河畔)(对应易北河里程472.5公里处的施纳肯堡至劳恩堡附近的569公里处)。该保护区涵盖吕肖-丹嫩贝格县与吕讷堡的部分辖区。
