An Act to make provision for the payment of subsidies towards the cost of certain farm water storages and bores was assented to on 12 October 1973. However, prior to this legislation a form of subsidy for similar purposes appears to have been paid to approved applicants, as evidenced by the earliest files which commence around 1969. "G" files contain approximately five documents comprising: the application; schedule of work (which includes a locality sketch and the estimated cost); an acknowledgement of receipt of the application, stating whether provisional approval has been given; a certificate of completion of work and the cover sheet which sets out in detail the procedures followed in processing the application; and in addition, the amount of subsidy paid. The file was then retired. In December 1985 the Farm Water Storages and Bores Subsidies Act, 1973, was repealed, thus ending the subsidy scheme. (12/12604-05). 2 boxes.
