Total public expenditure on education

Generally, the public sector funds education either by bearing directly the current and capital expenses of educational institutions (direct expenditure for educational institutions) or by supporting students and their families with scholarships and public loans as well as by transferring public subsidies for educational activities to private firms or non-profit organisations (transfers to private households and firms); both types of transactions together are reported as total public expenditure on education.一般而言，公共部门对教育的资助主要通过两类路径实现：其一为直接承担教育机构的经常开支与资本开支（即对教育机构的直接支出）；其二为通过奖学金、公共贷款向学生及其家庭提供支持，或将教育活动的公共补贴转拨至私营企业或非营利组织（即对私人家庭与企业的转移支付）。上述两类交易的总和即被统计为教育公共总支出。
