The dataset contains the traffic situation in real time (updated every 5 minutes) on the Hamburg road network and on larger roads in the direct Hamburg surroundings as well as on the motorways passing through Hamburg south to Lüneburg, Hanover and Bremen and north to Itzehoe, Flensburg and Lübeck. The traffic situation is divided into 4 condition classes, from condition class 1, flowing traffic (green) to condition class 2, dense traffic (orange) and condition class 3, tough traffic (red) to condition class 4, jammed traffic (dark red). If there is no data permanently or temporarily for individual segments, no traffic situation is displayed. The traffic situation is determined by means of a speed index (GI). This is calculated from the current speed divided by the speed with free traffic flow.
