The Open Ocean Aquaculture Project at the University of New Hampshire performs numerous tasks offshore. Recent projects include halibut and cod fish farming in large nets, mussel line harvesting, new fish net deployment, and buoy/anchor placement involving the towing of nets and tensioning of a weighting system. The design of the ideal vessel to perform these tasks was undertaken to improve safety and efficiency as well as minimize reliance on the current research vessel, which is rented. This report describes the development of a vessel design that meets the needs of the Project and is affordable. Grant no. NA76RG0084
