Effects of methionine restriction on gut microbiome in aged mice

Using 16s rDNA sequencing to analyze microbiome diurnal rhythmicity at six time points, our results showed that aging disrupted the cyclical fluctuations of the gut microbiome. MR partially restored these cyclical fluctuations, which led to time-specifically enhance the abundance of short-chain fatty acids producing and lifespan-promoting microbes.
