Angola (2007): Malaria TRaC Study among Caregivers of Children Under Five in Eight Urban Areas. Second Round

The objectives of this study were: (1) to measure change in net ownership in Luanda Province; (2) to gain insight into the opportunity, ability and motivation factors and population characteristics that drive or inhibit preventive behaviors against malaria; (3) to obtain baseline data on use of nets by children under 5 and treatment seeking behavior; and (4) to measure exposure to PSI interventions and correlation between exposure and key outcome indicators. Cluster sampling methodolog y was used to select a representative, random sample of household caregivers of children in 8 major urban areas of Angola. 2,860 respondents, including 2,108 primary caregivers to children under 5, were interviewed in their homes in Luanda, Cabinda, Huambo, Lubango, Benguela, Lobito, Malanje and Uige in June 2007.
