The denominators for the data included in this analysis were n = 84 children who died and n = 781 children who survived, i.e. children for whom additional HDSS inpatient data were available.aTwelve variables were included in the final model with results shown for the six main effects, and the interaction between nontyphoidal Salmonella and age.
