The thermophilic fungus Thielavia terrestris is a promising source of thermostable, industrially relevant biocatalysts, in particular plant cell wall active or carbohydrate active enzymes. We report here the complete genome sequencing of T. terrestris LPH 172, newly isolated from rotting pineapple waste in Vietnam that showed growth and enzyme activity at very low pH values (<3). In combination with transcriptomics, genes differentially expressed during growth on rice straw, corn cob xylan, beechwood xylan, Avicel and glucose can be identified.
