Genes related to betalain biosynthetic pathway in pitaya is not clear yet. In this study, the high efficient RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) technology was used to screen key genes related to betalain biosynthesis in pulp coloration of Guanhuahong (H. polyrhizus). The aim of the present study is to isolate key genes encoding steps in betalain biosynthetic pathway in pitaya.
