What is Salvinia molesta (Salviniaceae)? Determining the maternal progenitor and genetic diversity of the clonal invasive fern giant salvinia

The aquatic fern Salvinia molesta D.S. Mitch. is an invasive species that can have devastating effects on the freshwater habitats it colonizes. In this study we test hypotheses regarding the maternal progenitor and genetic diversity of this invasive species.
