DPValid collection – TKA: a dataset on adult subjects elected for total knee arthroplasty

The DPValid dataset consists of anonymised raw and processed data, including dynamometry measurements, surface electromyography data, and the reconstructed volumes of the thigh muscles (segmented on magnetic resonance images). The experimental data were collected on 20 elderly patients who were candidates for a total knee arthroplasty (TKA). For information on the folder structure, please refer to the README file and DPValid_TKA_Data_Structure image in the dataset.

The DPValid dataset is meant to serve as reference dataset for the biomechanics community, (clinical) researchers and practitioners interested in understanding the mechanisms underpinning the loss of muscle force (namely dynapenia).

The dataset will be accessible to the community, through an incentive-based mechanism (give data to get data), better detailed in the README file, to promote the exchange of data within the community towards the generation of large shared data collections.
