The crude oil may host the unique microorganisms. The sequential selectivity or preferential consumption of specific compounds has been known for a long time. However, the associated functional microbial organisms at different oil biodegradation stages are still not clear. This study makes the bridge between molecular compositions and functional microbial organisms. The aerobic oil biodegradation experiments were performed on the unbiodegraded oil from Bamianhe Oilfield of Bohai Bay Basin for 129 days.
