Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) is a mosquito-borne alphavirus that has caused multiple widespread outbreaks and poses a serious threat to human health. Recently, CHIKV outbreaks have been reported in Guangdong Province, China. However, genomic data and information on local transmission remain limited. In this study, we identified 19 CHIKV-positive cases in in a district of Guangzhou, and then performed nanopore whole-genome sequencing and mutational analysis.
