Raw Data for "Future Time Perspective and Training Procrastination among Chinese Collegiate Athletes from a Sustainable Athlete Development Perspective"

This dataset contains the anonymized raw data used in the manuscript entitled “Future Time Perspective and Training Procrastination among Chinese Collegiate Athletes from a Sustainable Athlete Development Perspective: The Mediating Role of Self-Control and the Moderating Role of Achievement Goal Orientations.”

The study examined the associations among future time perspective, self-control, achievement goal orientations, and training procrastination among Chinese collegiate athletes from a sustainable athlete development perspective. The dataset was collected through a cross-sectional online questionnaire survey conducted between January 10, 2026 and February 10, 2026. The final valid sample included 1,674 Chinese collegiate athletes recruited from 48 higher education institutions across 15 provincial-level administrative regions in China. The dataset includes demographic and sport-related variables, as well as scale responses and/or computed scores for future time perspective, self-control, mastery-approach goal orientation, performance-avoidance goal orientation, and training procrastination.

All data were anonymized before sharing and do not contain personally identifiable information. The dataset is provided to support transparency, reproducibility, and secondary analysis related to the submitted manuscript. The study received ethical approval from the Ethics Committee of the School of Athletic Training, Chengdu Sport University, China.
