Tuber indicum microbiome - host tree and compartment effects

Truffle compartments were an important driver structuring the bacterial and fungal communities in the Tuber indicum cultivation China, more so than the host trees did. This study highlight for the first time the multiple interactions between bacteria and fungi associated with truffle cultivation, one of the most important edible ectomycorrhizal mushrooms whose international market worths billions of dollars annually.
