Microsoft Teams mobile app global downloads as of Q3 2024, by region

In the third quarter of 2024, the Microsoft Teams mobile app registered around 10 million downloads in North and Latin America. During the third quarter of 2024, the region of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa saw approximately 8.6 million downloads. Between the first quarter of 2020 and the end of 2023, the region accounted for the highest number of downloads of the Microsoft Team app, reaching a peak of roughly 27.4 million downloads in the second quarter of 2020.The increase is due to the global outbreak of coronavirus pandemic, which affected offline work interactions and forced companies to adopt communication solutions to adapt to the new remote working conditions. Between the fourth quarter of 2019 and the first quarter of 2020, downloads of the Microsoft Teams mobile app in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa increased of more than 750 percent. While in 2020 downloads of both Microsoft Teams and Zoom increased worldwide, Zoom mobile app recorded higher numbers of downloads, reaching 129 million in the Asia-Pacific region in the second quarter of 2020.
