资源简介:
Lymphoma includes many types of lymphoid (relating to organs or tissues that make immune system cells called lymphocytes, e.g. lymph nodes, spleen, thymus) cancers and is one of the most common cancers, with many new cases diagnosed every year. Understanding both the clinical (visible symptoms and patient details) and molecular characteristics (genes and proteins found in the cancer cells) of lymphoma is crucial for accurate diagnosis, prognosis (expected patient outcomes), and treatment selection. Traditional methods have used clinical features like age, gender, disease stage, and overall health to categorize patients and guide treatment decisions. However, recent advances have shown that it's important to also look at molecular characteristics due to the variety within lymphoma types. This study aims to uncover new insights into the clinical and molecular factors that influence Lymphoma prognosis. We will conduct individual analyses for each predictor variable to see how they relate to progression-free survival (how long during and after the treatment of a cancer that a patient lives with the disease but it does not get worse (PFS)) and overall survival (the proportion of patients still alive a set time after diagnosis or start of treatment (OS)). Significant predictors will be identified based on their statistical importance. By combining multiple types of data, this research may reveal previously unnoticed patterns and correlations that could impact patient care. Identifying and validating new prognostic factors (characteristics that can be used to estimate the chance of being cancer-free or the chance of the cancer recurring) will help doctors better predict disease progression and tailor treatment strategies for individual patients. This could lead to better patient outcomes and lower healthcare costs. We aim to fully describe the different clinical and molecular characteristics of lymphoma patients. This involves analyzing how these characteristics affect prognosis and identifying new prognostic factors that could improve patient outcomes. Using clinical and molecular data, we will explore the relationships between patient characteristics, disease presentation, and treatment outcomes.
