This dataset documents the categories and corresponding annual records for 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000 of the urban maintenance and construction fund revenue and expenditure of Chongqing Municipality, which is a provincial (municipality directly under the Central Government) demonstration region for the shelterbelt forestation project, extracted from its social and economic statistics during 1996–2000. Chongqing is a typical provincial-level zone within the key shelterbelt forestation project area. This dataset also includes statistical data related to Chongqing across various domains, such as population, industrial and agricultural production, fixed asset investment, infrastructure construction, tourism development, resident livelihood, commodity prices, local public finance, industrial enterprises, transportation and postal and telecommunications services, cultivated land and grain, education and public health.
